Revenge

Acryic on Canvas, 3 panels 12" x 36".

I am obviously a huge bird lover! I'm enamoured by birds of prey, especially hawks and owls. This painting was inspired by a chance encounted I witnessed in my back yard last fall. There was a Red Tail Hawk attacking and pursuing a Great Horned Owl in our oak tree. It was incredible to see a hawk, half the size of the owl, stay focused and determined to torment and de-feather the owl. I'm assuming the owl had encroached upon the territory and nesting area of the hawk. After they flew off and took their differences to another garden, we collected a handful of owl feathers. I named this painting 'Revenge', knowing that owls never forget their enemies.
